Sole and Symbolism

This sterling silver seahorse pendant is part of my Sea Life collection of organic coastal jewellery.

Seahorses are often seen as symbols of patience, protection, gentle strength and good luck.  Moving calmly through shifting tides, they remind us to stay grounded and resilient, even in uncertain waters.  They also encourage us to slow down, avoid rushing, and move with the flow of life rather than fighting against it.

Because seahorses are a protected species, I don’t cast from originals.  Instead, I hand-carved an original wax model of each size as my own interpretation of this extraordinary sea creature.

The Casting Process

Each sterling silver seahorse is individually cast using the traditional lost wax process, preserving the fine detail of the original carving.  The lost wax casting process ensures that I can reproduce every single tiny detail of my original wax carved model. Once cast I then refine and gently polish each one giving it a soft organic texture.  Because I make each one individually, no two are identical.  As a result, each seahorse has its own natural character, almost as if found along the sea shore.

Presentation

This beautiful sterling silver seahorse is also available in extra small and medium.  For the small and medium you can choose between a gentle high polish, or an antiqued finish for a deeper, more time-worn look.  I hand finish every piece in my studio, so subtle variations can add to its individuality while remaining true to the original design.

Each seahorse pendant comes on a 1.7mm sterling silver chain in your choice of 16, 18, or 20 inches.  If you prefer a different chain length, or a heavier chain for a more rustic look, please contact me to discuss what you have in mind.  There may be an additional charge.  Your seahorse pendant will arrive beautifully presented in a branded gift box.
