Description
This pair of aquamarine drop earrings is one of my favourites. I have made them with 10mm round aquamarine cabochons and silver teardrops which I have hammered, domed and gently oxydised. The aquamarines themselves are a gorgeous light blue colour, a little like slightly cloudy blue spring skies. They are lightweight to wear and have lots of movement so the teardrops almost sparkle when they catch the light.
Aquamarine is said to be a symbol of clarity, calmness, and courage. It is also associated with the throat chakra and fosters clear communication and emotional balance. As a gemstone associated with water and in ancient folklore, it was believed to be a talisman of courage and protection for sailors and travellers.
But whether you believe in the spiritual meanings of gemstones or not, these earrings look gorgeous on!
